About
Operator led, boardroom to front line
Demystify Consulting is the operating partner for organic growth in lower middle market private equity portfolios. We were built by someone who carried the number, not by someone who advised on it.
The firm
What we are, in one paragraph
Every value creation plan assumes organic growth. Very few value creation teams are built to design and build it. Demystify exists to own that half of the plan on the sponsor’s behalf, across a portfolio rather than one company at a time, whether or not there is already an operating partner in the seat.
The work runs on three tracks. Revenue, where we architect pipeline and make the forecast something a board can underwrite. Demand, where we build a marketing organization that can show what its effort produced. Digital, where we connect commerce and data to the rest of the business. They are designed and built as one motion, because run as three separate projects they cancel each other out.
We do not hand over a strategy. We build the capability that runs it, then hand that over.
We own the growth half of the value creation plan and say out loud what we do not claim: cost takeout, procurement, working capital, supply chain, IT infrastructure, interim CEO work, or a fiduciary board seat. A firm that claims everything is telling you it has never been accountable for anything.
Our founder
Animesh spent more than two decades as an operator before starting Demystify. He has run operations, marketing, sales and service organizations, and launched digital channels from nothing, at companies ranging from roughly $500M to $35B in revenue. He has held the CRO, CMO and Chief eCommerce Officer seats, and he has led marketing organizations of 250 people against targets north of $3B.
The results that matter to a sponsor are the ones that came without more budget. $1.5B+ in incremental revenue at a national omnichannel retailer without raising spend. $300M of qualified pipeline built from scratch. Forecast accuracy lifted from roughly 40% to 80%. A failing direct to consumer channel turned to 40% year over year EBITDA growth. $8.4M of margin found without raising prices.
He started Demystify because the same problem kept appearing in lower middle market portfolios. The plan assumed growth, the team was capable but assembled for something else, and there was no one whose job it was to design and build the motion. Over the last three years the firm has touched more than twenty portfolio companies, and is retained today as operating partner across the portfolios of multiple lower middle market sponsors.
He works with CEOs and sponsors who want an operator in the room rather than an adviser on the line, and he is still the person who shows up in the portfolio company.

How we work
Four things we do not bend on
Results over rhetoric
We do not pitch. The work is judged on what moved, not on how the deck looked.
Truth in every meeting
No spin. If the plan will not deliver the number, you hear it from us early, including when that costs us the next phase.
The exit is written first
One of the first things we agree is how the engagement ends and what has to be true for that to happen. We are not built to land and expand.
Done means delivered
We build, launch and optimize until the results show up, and until the team can run it without us.
In their words
Led with clarity, speed and precision. A force multiplier for any business.
Managing partner, mid market PE sponsor
The catalyst we needed. Hands on work with the team that made all of us better.
CEO, PE backed distributor
An uncanny ability to simplify complexity, cut through noise, and lead organizations to real outcomes.
President, global technology distributor
His understanding of eCommerce and digital business models is exceptional. We saw results quickly.
CEO, PE portfolio distributor
He is both highly strategic and ruthlessly execution oriented. One of the most impactful leaders I have worked with.
CMO, Fortune 500 consumer brand
We do not publish the names of sponsors, portfolio companies or the people who lead them. References are arranged on a call.
Where to go next
The three tracks in detail
CMO track
Org design, full funnel demand, content tied to pipeline, and the numbers behind it.
CDO track
Martech, digital go-to-market, eCommerce channel, and data that answers where growth came from.
Growth doesn’t need to be complicated. It just needs to be demystified.
If organic growth is the half of your value creation plan that nobody owns, that is the conversation to have.
